Sanjiv Sood, M.D.

  • Graduated Government Medical College in Amritsar, India.
  • Completed his internship and residency in pediatrics and adolescent medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center.
  • Completed a fellowship in neonatology at OU School of Medicine at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
  • Began practice in Tulsa at Springer Clinic (now Warren Clinic) in 1989.
  • Can spend hours watching cricket (India’s version of baseball).

Alka Sood, M.D., FAAP

“Pediatrics is my passion. I love caring for children! But my true calling is to help kids and their parents. My reward is keeping your child happy and healthy… all while giving you some peace of mind and making your job a little easier.”

  • Attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
  • Completed her internship and residency in pediatrics and adolescent medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Science Center.
  • Began her practice at Springer Clinic (now Warren Clinic) in 1987.
  • Board certified with the American Board of Pediatrics.
  • Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
  • Has a black-belt in knitting. (Just kidding, but she’s really good!)

Umang Sood, M.D.

  • Attended the accelerated six year combined medical program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
  • Completed her internship and residence in Pediatric and Adolescent medicine at Washington University in St. Louis and St. Louis Children's Hospital.
  • Completed a five year tenure as a Pediatric Hospitalist at Washington University/St. Louis Children's Hospital encompassing all aspects of acute pediatric care.
  • Board Certified with the American Academy of Pediatrics.
  • Enjoys spending time with her toddler, husband and dog, being outside, watching the latest Marvel superhero movies and exploring new recipes to try in her Instant Pot.

    RHONDA SULLIVAN, ANCLC

    • Graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors in Nursing 2014.
    • Became a Certified Lactation Counselor in March 2018.
    • Obtained Advanced Nurse Certified Lactation Consultant in April 2018.

    JENNIFER GONZALES, APRN, CNS

    • Completed her undergraduate education in 1999 at Oklahoma Baptist University.
    • Earned Master in Science Degree at University of South Alabama. 
    • Certified by both the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and by the
      Pediatric Nurse Certification Board in pediatric primary care.
    • Jennifer is married to a Tulsa firefighter and has 3 children.
    • Her free time is spent with family and serving in her church.

    At Birth and Beyond we offer a full range of pediatric services for children from birth to 18 years of age. We are proud to share these formative years with our patients and their families and are dedicated to providing compassionate and high-quality healthcare.

    Comprehensive Well-child Visits

    We believe that a healthy childhood is achieved when parents and pediatricians work together. During well-care visits, we strive to create a complete picture of your child’s health by taking time to ask questions and listen to your concerns. Beginning at birth, we measure your child’s physical and mental development during our annual exams, school and sports physicals and vaccination appointments. Our big-picture approach to pediatric services includes:

    • Monitoring physical growth and encouraging healthy nutrition
    • Assessing emotional health
    • Providing vaccinations
    • Offering health screens and tests
    • Discussing behavioral issues
    • Keeping track of sleeping patterns
    • Sharing child care and safety tips
    • Exploring family medical histories for health concerns

    Responsive Sick Visits

    Being sick is hard on children and their parents. With that in mind, we provide efficient care that helps children feel better fast. We offer same-day sick visits as well as Saturday sick visits to help your kids feel better faster and get back to the business of being a kid. We are also available over the phone until 9pm every night and our nurseline is available 24 hours a day to address emergent medical concerns.

    INSURANCE

    For Newborns:

    Remember to add your newborn to your insurance within the first 30 days after birth to avoid lapse in coverage. 

    For Everyone:

    Please remember to bring your child’s insurance card with you to appointments. It is essential that we have correct insurance information so you can avoid unnecessary out-of-pocket expenses.
