Arsenic Tainted Apple Juice… What To Do?
December 5, 2011

We have received a lot of calls about the arsenic tainted apple juice and what to do. The amount of arsenic in the apple juice, although above acceptable amounts is NOT toxic and no blood tests need to be done. The best thing to do is to simply stop buying those brands linked to higher levels of arsenic and/or lead. You can find the complete Consumer Reports testing results at Consumer Reports. For a complete view of this story check out NPR’s recent post on their food blog at NPR. Hopefully in the future we can look for better defined standards for arsenic and lead in fruit juice. In the meantime do panic, just buy informed and remember an apple is even better than just the juice.
